This class is for two two-day weekends.

Introduction to Neurological Concepts in Applied Kinesiology
You Will Learn:
  • The new concepts that blend functional neurological concepts with the fundamentals of applied kinesiology
Understanding the Basics of Manual Muscle Testing (MMT)
You Will Learn:
  • How your brain thinks in terms of whole motions, not relative to individual muscles.
  • About the architecture of the spinal cord
  • How to map a physiological blind spot and what its size means
Intrinsic Spinal Muscle Dysfunction and its Role in Vertebral Subluxation
You Will Learn:
  • What are shunt muscles and why are they important
  • What are spurt muscles and how can we test them using manual muscle testing
  • How to manage shunt and spurt muscles together
Proprioception and the Gait Reflex
You Will Learn:
  • What makes up a reflex arc
  • The 12 effects of primary afferentation
  • The importance of functional reciprocity
The Enteric Plexus: Understanding the Vasovagal Reflex
You Will Learn:
  • The components of the enteric nervous system (ENS)
  • What it means to be "vasovagal"
  • The importance management of corticobulbar pathways
Gastric Esophagitis and the Ileocecal Valve Syndrome
You Will Learn:
  • The causes and treatment of a hiatal hernia
  • The causes and treatment of a dysfunctional ileocecal valve
  • The role of the ileocecal valve in small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)
  • The management and treatment of the migrating motor complex

You Will Learn:
  • The difference between neurochemicals and neurotransmitters
  • The importance of the 7 major neurotransmitters
  • How to examine the major neurotransmitters
Scoliosis and its Vestibular Relationships
You Will Learn:
  • The importance of functional blance
  • How to examine the semicircular canals
  • The vestibulospinal outflow and its affect on spinal stability
Nociception and Pain Control
You Will Learn:
  • The affects of medication in pain control
  • How to use manual muscle testing as examine the cause of pain
  • How to address chronic pain in a clinical practice
Upper Cervical and Cranial Postural Mechanisms
You Will Learn:
  • The various postural reflexes and how to recognize each of them
  • How to examine and treat the various postural displays
Athletic Injury: Pre-existing Patterns, their Treatment and their Prevention
You Will Learn:
  • The 9 most common athletic injuries and how to address them with AK
  • The overuse syndrome; its examination and treatment
  • When to use heat versus cold
